Welfare Services

1. Eup/Myeon/Dong Happy Gathering Program

  • Program period: March ~ November
  • Target demographics: Multicultural families and foreigners
  • Location: eup/myeon/dong community centers
  • Services: A program selected by the participating eup/myeon/dong office

    Eup/Myeon/Dong Happy Gathering Event held in October or November every year

2. Financial Assistance for Sending International Mail 【EMS】

  • Program period: January ~ December 20
  • Eligibility criteria: A multicultural family with a registered residence in Gongju whose income falls under 110% of the median income
  • Support details: Financial assistance for sending international mail [EMS] (up to KRW 100,000 a year per family)
  • Required documents: Alien registration card or resident registration card, national health insurance card and proof of national health insurance premium payments, and a copy of one’s bankbook
  • Application procedure: Apply at your local eup/myeon/dong office → Request for Korea Post courier service (submit the receipt) → Money deposited to the registered bank account in the following month 【Gongju City → Applicant】

3. Driving License Written Test Preparation Class for Migrant Women

  • Program period: Held once a year (between March and April)

    A class on the written exam for a driver’s license in Chinese, Vietnamese and English

4. Crime Prevention Class for Marriage Immigrant Women

  • Program period: Held 6 times a year (crime prevention class for marriage immigrant women residing in Gongju)
  • Location: Gongju Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center
  • Content: Information on the rights of victims of domestic/sexual violence, etc. and victim support services

5. Integrated Services of Gongju Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center

  • Target demographics: Various types of families incl. multicultural families living in Gongju

    Sharing childcare responsibility Provide an opportunity for the members of the community to share the work in raising children as well as childcare information and items for children, to learn, experience and pick up and drop off children at school together as a way to share the burden of childcare, and to engage in group activities that help children develop social skills
    Children’s play room Create a child-friendly environment in the community for families with children and provide a space for parents to take care of their children together

9. Communication and Interaction Space for Multicultural Families

  • Program period: January ~ December / Opened on November 15, 2019
  • Target demographics: Multicultural families residing in Gongju
  • Location: 23, Uidang-ro, Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do (former public health center)
  • Description: A place for providing education to multicultural families to help promote the growth and development of their children, for multicultural families to exchange information, for immigrant women to engage in self-help activities, and for cultural exchanges between Korean residents and multicultural families
